Character Descriptions
​
The Cat in the Hat – A playful, mischievous narrator who guides the audience through the story.
Horton the Elephant – Kind and loyal; believes “a person’s a person, no matter how small.”
Jojo – A young dreamer from Whoville with a big imagination and even bigger heart.
Gertrude McFuzz – A shy bird who learns that being yourself is what truly matters.
Mayzie La Bird – Flashy, confident, and loves attention — but not responsibility.
Sour Kangaroo – Bold and brassy; doesn’t believe Horton’s wild stories.
Young Kangaroo – Her eager sidekick, always echoing her mom.
The Wickersham Brothers – A trio of troublemaking monkeys who tease Horton.
Mr. and Mrs. Mayor – Jojo’s caring but overwhelmed parents from Whoville.
The Bird Girls – Sassy narrators who help tell the tale.
Vlad Vladikoff – A sly eagle who steals Horton’s clover.
Yertle the Turtle – The pompous judge at Horton’s trial.
The Whos & Jungle Citizens – The colorful community that fills Seuss’s imaginative world.
