Almost, Maine
Almost, Maine is a heartwarming and whimsical play about love in all its forms. Set in the small, snowy town of Almost on a winter night beneath the Northern Lights, the story unfolds through a series of interconnected vignettes. As couples meet, break apart, reconcile, and discover unexpected connections, ordinary moments become extraordinary. Funny, tender, and a little magical, Almost, Maine explores the many ways we fall in and out of love.

Character Descriptions

Pete: A practical repairman with a quietly romantic heart. Pete grounds the magic of Almost in something steady and real.
Ginette: Warm, hopeful, and earnest. Ginette believes deeply in love, even when it feels uncertain.
East: Sweet and nervous, East struggles to find the right words. Her feelings, however, are completely genuine.
Glory: Independent and guarded, Glory carries the weight of past heartbreak. It will take something unexpected to thaw her.
Jimmy: Good natured but emotionally overwhelmed. Jimmy cannot quite say what he means when it matters most.
Sandrine: Direct and thoughtful. Sandrine has grown into clarity, even if Jimmy has not.
Marvalyn: Confident and analytical, Marvalyn sees love as a liability. She believes protecting herself is the safest choice.
Steve: Steady and practical. Steve understands that pain is part of loving someone.
Gayle: Fierce and stubborn, Gayle feels everything fully. She refuses to let love slip away without a fight.
Lendall: Literal and proud. Lendall struggles to recognize what he has until it is almost gone.
Randy: Cautious and thoughtful, Randy prefers emotional safety. Falling in love was never part of his plan.
Chad: Open and sincere, Chad believes in love without hesitation. When he falls, he falls completely.
Phil: Quiet and wounded. Phil is still holding on to something that may already be lost.
Marci: Determined and forward thinking. Marci is ready to move ahead, even if it hurts.
Hope: Restless and searching. Hope left Almost chasing something bigger and now questions what truly matters.
Daniel: Steady and sincere. Daniel stayed, even when his heart did not.
Rhonda: Bold and sharp, Rhonda insists she does not need anyone. She might be wrong.
Dave: Gentle and observant. Dave sees what others miss, especially when it comes to love.
